Exterior
This is further to the all new Audi A5 Avant – Yes, you heard correctly.
Audi has introduced a new Avant variant to the model line-up, to completely overhaul the A5 & S5 range, which is set to replace the current outgoing A4.
The A5 sits on a set of 17” alloy wheels as standard, which increases to 19” if you opt for S-Line variants or the top-spec S5.
An optional set of 20” alloy wheels is also available.
A new honeycomb grill design, paired with larger and more prominent air intakes create a more aggressive and sportier-looking front bumper.
These are coupled with futuristic LED lights, which house 60 LEDS per panel and can be customised from a predefined option list for personal light signatures
Interior
Moving to the interior, you will notice the heavily digitalised cockpit.
A standard 11.9” digital cockpit is paired with a 14.5” centralised touchscreen. The central infotainment system operates key functions and operates on Audi’s latest MMI operating system.
If that wasn’t enough, users can also add an optional 10.9” touchscreen for their front passenger.
The A5 is finished with adaptive lighting to improve ambience and the interior incorporates a fabric design.
Sitting at the top of the range, the S5 includes a stunning set of leather sports seats as standard.
Engines & Technology
Engines start with the entry-level 2.0-litre option, which produces 148bhp.
The petrol variant is capable of 42.8mpg, although, the diesel variant will allow 60.1mp, making it the perfect executive saloon for long journeys.
For those looking for more of a kick, the same engine is available with a more powerful tune and produces an impressive 201bhp.
At the top of the range, sits the incredible S5 variant. It utilises a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine to produce an astonishing 362bhp.
It is paired with mild hybrid technology to improve driving efficiency and save on fuel, furthermore, it’s equipped with S-Tronic dual-clutch technology designed to reduce weight on the front axle.
Audi has informed readers that the steering and suspension have been extensively reworked, to provide more precision.
Optional adaptive dampeners now offer greater options, allowing users to alternate between a firm or soft set-up.
